The tureen has an elongated, softly faceted body with sculptural side handles and a fitted lid crowned by a geometric square finial. The combination of the angular silhouette, restrained gilding and almost modernist black animal imagery gives the piece a particularly strong Art Deco character.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe underside carries the original \u003cstrong\u003eGebrüder Benedikt \/ Czecho-Slovakia factory mark\u003c\/strong\u003e, confirming its manufacture by the historic Czechoslovak porcelain maker.
