Vintage Swedish Cross-Stitch Parrots Wall Hanging

A vivid and joyful piece of 1970s Scandinavian folk art, this cross-stitch wall hanging depicts two exotic parrots perched on a dark branch amid lush green foliage and delicate white daisy-like flowers with golden yellow centres. The upper bird is rendered in brilliant golden yellow and teal, while the lower bird blazes in red, orange and yellow — both worked with remarkable detail and colour saturation against the warm natural burlap ground.

The piece is finished with a woven black fabric header and its original metal hanging rod with a decorative ring — ready to hang straight from the wall. The open-weave burlap ground gives the embroidery an airy, textured quality that photographs alone cannot fully convey.
