A remarkable 1960s Swedish wall clock combining traditional tvistsöm needlework with Scandinavian Mid-Century design.
The entire clock face is surrounded by handworked textile in a bold geometric composition of deep brown, magenta, purple, burnt orange, cream and black. At the center sits an elegant brass-tone Roman numeral clock face with ornate hands, creating a wonderful contrast between traditional Swedish textile craft and 1960s modern design.
The clock is presented in its warm wooden frame, and the original clock mechanism is working.
At 32 × 32 cm (12.6 × 12.6 in), it has enough visual presence to work as a standalone statement piece while remaining an easy size for gallery walls and curated collections.
This is exactly the kind of vintage object that works beautifully in Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian, eclectic, maximalist and collected interiors. More than simply a clock, it functions as a piece of textile wall art — bringing color, texture and genuine handmade character to a room.
The strong geometric pattern and saturated 1960s palette make it particularly appealing alongside teak furniture, vintage ceramics, natural woods and other Scandinavian design pieces.
