Framed Needlepoint Water Lilies and Dragonfly, Mid Century Swedish Folk Fiber Art

Beautifully hand-stitched mid-century needlepoint picture depicting a serene pond scene with blooming pink and white water lilies, slender reeds, and a delicate blue dragonfly hovering above. The composition is worked in fine wool and cotton threads on canvas, with soft pastel tones of dusty pink, cream, sage green and powder blue against a natural linen ground.

Set in its original light wood frame with a subtle iridescent finish, behind protective glass. The combination of the pale wood and the gentle watercolour-like palette gives the piece a fresh, airy feel that suits both classic and modern interiors.

This style of needlework was hugely popular in Swedish homes during the mid-20th century, when delicately stitched nature scenes were displayed in living rooms, hallways and bedrooms as decorative wall art. The dragonfly and water lily motif - symbols of summer, transformation and quiet beauty - was a beloved subject among Scandinavian needleworkers of the period.

A lovely decorative piece for cottagecore interiors, country homes, summer cabins, reading rooms, bedrooms and gallery walls. Pairs beautifully with antique furniture, botanical prints, linen textiles and other framed needleworks.
