Handmade Swedish Ceramic Wall Plaque with Bluebells

A handmade vintage ceramic wall plaque with a bouquet of deep blue bluebells (harebells) and two white flowers with blue-tipped petals, on long green stems. The flowers are modelled in relief and glazed in glossy cobalt blue, white and green on a light unglazed clay background. The edges are decorated with hand-tooled marks around the whole plaque.

On the back is a personal Swedish dedication, hand-incised into the clay before firing, for a 50th birthday. It shows the plaque was made as a one-of-a-kind gift. There is also a handwritten number in pencil.

Details:

  • Material: ceramic, glazed relief on unglazed clay
  • Motif: bluebells and white wildflowers
  • Back: hand-incised Swedish birthday dedication, no maker’s mark
  • Hanging: two holes at the top with original string
  • Dimensions: Width 4.7 in (12 cm) / Height 11.8 in (30 cm)

Condition: Good vintage condition with a few small chips along the edges, consistent with age and handmade production. The flowers and glaze are intact. Please see all photos.
