Large Swedish needlepoint wall textile from the 1970s, featuring a vertically composed sunflower design in yellow, ochre, green and brown.
The work is executed in dense needlepoint on a coarse woven ground. The oversized sunflower forms, simplified geometry and strong color blocking are characteristic of the graphic approach found in Scandinavian textile design of the period.
Presented in its solid teak frame. The narrow frame profile and natural teak surface are original to the piece.
