Mid-Century Modern Pendant Lamp – Pleated Linen and Lace, Sweden

The shade construction here is genuinely unusual: a pleated cream linen cone crowns the upper section, while the cylindrical drum body is wrapped in a finely woven geometric cream lace overlay. Together they produce a layered interplay of texture and diffused light that single-material shades simply cannot match. Brass canopy fitting and decorative finial in very good condition. White textile cord.

A characteristic example of Swedish residential lighting from the 1960s–70s, when textile lampshades with folk-influenced lace detailing were made for the domestic interior market with real attention to material craft. The piece is display-ready: shade fully intact, lace panel undamaged, linen clean, no tears or significant discoloration.
