Ninnie Forsgren Stoneware Wall Plaque – Girl with Red Hair

A charming vintage Swedish stoneware wall plaque by Ninnie Forsgren, showing a girl with long red-brown pigtails, a white tunic top and brown flared trousers. The figure is modelled in relief against a lightly incised background, with soft glazes in white, rust and brown. Her monogram is on the front.

Ninnie Forsgren (born 1937) is known for her wall plaques and ceramics made in Sweden in the 1960s and 1970s.

The back is stamped “Made in Sweden by Ninnie – Stengods” and still carries its original typed label: a short Swedish verse about art, signed by hand. It is a lovely personal detail from the plaque’s history.
