Per Beckman for Gustavsberg – Hjärtliga Gratulationer 1976

A vintage Swedish congratulation plate from Gustavsberg’s annual Gratulationstallrik series, designed by Per Beckman (1913–1989). This is plate no. 5 in the series, dated 1976.

The design shows a crowned bird singing on top of a wind-up music box marked 1976, surrounded by small songbirds, leafy branches and pearl garlands, with the greeting “Hjärtliga Gratulationer” (Heartfelt Congratulations) in flowing script. The fine, detailed brown transfer print on white bone china shows Beckman’s typical graphic style, with feather, lace and jewel patterns.

A lovely gift for a birthday, wedding, anniversary or graduation – especially for someone born or married in 1976 – and a beautiful piece for a Scandinavian plate wall.
