A truly unusual Swedish wall sconce from the 1970s, made entirely of pine and built like a piece of woodworking art.
The flower-shaped shade is formed from thin, bent pine veneer panels joined together with interlocking puzzle-shaped tabs – no glue, no metal, just precise craftsmanship holding every piece in place. Inside, a spoked wooden frame supports the shade from below, and the scalloped lower edge softens the silhouette like the petals of a flower. The shade sits on a hand-turned pine stem, carried by a sculpted wooden arm mounted on a solid pine wall plate.
When lit, the warm glow brings out the flame grain of the pine and casts soft light through the open joints – a cozy, natural accent for a bedroom, reading corner, hallway or cabin-style interior.
