A vintage two-arm candle holder in solid pine, designed by Stig Johnsson for Smålandsslöjd in Värnamo, Sweden, in the 1970s.
Stig Johnsson’s pine designs for Smålandsslöjd are among the most recognizable Swedish wooden home pieces of the 1970s, known for their sculptural, rustic forms and the strong grain of solid pine.
The curved U-shaped frame rests on an arched base, with a turned center column topped by a round finial. Two turned candle cups sit at each end of the shaped top rail. The pine has a warm, deep patina from age.
Measurements: height 27 cm (10.6 in), width 23 cm (9.1 in).
Condition: good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. Wax residue inside the candle cups, small marks and a natural knot in the wood. Please see all photos for details.
For safety, never leave burning candles unattended.
