Addin studied at Konstfack in Stockholm and is recognised as one of Sweden's distinctive post-war studio potters, known for his expressive stoneware work with bold glazes and strong tactile character. The plaque depicts a plump bird nestled among leaves on a branch, modelled in confident relief against a cross-hatched textured ground. The glazes are warm and earthy – amber, cream, olive green and slate grey – with the subtle luster and slight variations that mark genuine hand-crafted studio work. Hand-signed on the front with the initials CH.A; the maker's stamp Curt M. Addin is impressed on the reverse.
